Ride the Rail - Pedal Power

phoca_thumb_m_untitled-2Hey - this is different! Pedal your own Rail Rider along the old Maydena railway track past historic railway artefacts and onto Kallista - 2.5 kms away. Great fun! Allow 1.5 hours to enjoy the scenery.

Please note that children under the age of 5 are not permitted on the Railtrack Rider and children from 5 to 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Trike Hike - reopening November 2010

phoca_thumb_m_011_11After a great summer the trikes have slipped into maintenance mode and will be given a rest until later in the year. Bookings for these speedy units will recommence when the Hub shopfront reopens in November.

The trikes deliver a three-wheeled freedom not found on the road and a trip out to the Junee Cave is a must once summer arrives. Make sure you book early in November. 

 
Tracking the Tassie Tiger

We'll pick you up from Hobart, travel through the picturesque Derwent Valley and then plunge deep into the forest to discover Churchill's Hut - the home of Elias Churchill, the trapper responsible for the capture of the last known thylacine. South West Wilderness Walks

A dolerite boulder strewn gully leads to the small summit plateau with sensational views of the South West from the lakes below to Frenchmans Cap, the ‘ice chewed' Arthur Range and Mt Anne. There are even glimpses of the Southern Ocean beyond.
On the return trip when there is time there will be a brief side trip to the `creepy crawly' nature walk on Scotts Peak Rd.

Full-day trips provide guests with an overview of the spectacular Southwest National Park and surrounds. Cost for the tour is $350 covering 4 passengers and a driver/guide. Half-day trips into Mt Field National Park or the Styx Valley to see the world’s tallest hardwood trees (Eucalyptus regnans) are available at $150 covering 4 passengers and a driver/guide. Remote area pick-up or drop-offs are available to bushwalkers or adventurers into any reasonable location in the area – around $80 per trip.
